Sergeant Adam Tzarfati, 20, from Rosh Ha-Ayin, was killed last night (Monday) by an explosive drone launched by Hezbollah terrorists towards a Golani Brigade combat team force in southern Lebanon.
Tzarfati served as a fighter in the Magellan unit belonging to the Commando formation.
The incident occurred tonight at 1:00 AM in the village of Yochmor in southern Lebanon, located north of the Litani River not far from the Beaufort Fortress.
A Frenchman was killed by an explosive drone that exploded on the fighting force present at the scene.
Forces from the Golani Brigade and the Commando Formation are currently operating in the same area as part of the fighting in the northern sector.
In the serious incident, three additional fighters from the force that was in the building were injured: one fighter was seriously injured, and two other fighters were slightly injured as a result of the explosion.
The wounded fighters were evacuated by helicopter to Rambam Hospital in Haifa.
Tzarfati is the 14th casualty to have fallen since the ceasefire in Lebanon came into effect.
According to Itai Blumenthal's report from Kan News, the IDF is not yet able to determine whether this is a drone equipped with night vision equipment, but in light of recent events in Lebanon, it can be determined that Hezbollah knows how to operate explosive drones both at night and in the dark.
