New footage released this morning (Sunday) by the IDF shows the moment the first tank crossed the Litani River in southern Lebanon.
The operational activity took place as part of the expansion of the security forces' ground maneuvers beyond the Yellow Line. The river crossing was carried out as part of the forces' preparations for the combined operation to capture the Beaufort Ridge.
Earlier, IDF soldiers, led by fighters from the Golani Brigade, returned to the summit of Beaufort and raised the Israeli flag and the Golani flag anew. The event took place 44 years after the heroic Battle of Beaufort, and on the day of remembrance for the fallen of the Galilee Peace War, including the soldiers of the brigade who fell in the historic battle.
