During Shabbat, dozens of rockets were fired from Lebanon. One of them was launched, for the first time, into the Meron area, while another hit a commercial center in Kiryat Shmona.

Rocket fire alarms were also activated in Nahariya, for the first time in three weeks - and then alarms sounded again in Kiryat Shmona and, for the first time in more than a month, in Karmiel.

In footage from the beach in Nahariya during the alarms, hundreds of people were seen running into a small bomb shelter. The missile fell into the sea.

The IDF previously announced: "Following the deepening of the activity of IDF forces in southern Lebanon and in accordance with the assessment of the situation, the IDF is preparing for the possibility of firing from Lebanese territory targeting the northern region. The IDF emphasizes that at this stage one must be alert, act responsibly and obey the instructions of the Home Front Command.".

""As of now, there is no change in the Home Front Command's guidelines. If changes occur, the public will be informed accordingly.".

The IDF Spokesperson's Office reported immediately after the alarms that a rocket launched from Lebanon was intercepted, while another exploded in an open area. After the alarms in and around Nahariya, several additional rockets were intercepted, and others exploded in open areas.

The rockets launched this evening at Kiryat Shmona and Karmiel were intercepted. Prior to that, around 3:30 PM, alarms sounded non-stop in the Western Galilee for 10 minutes straight, due to concerns about the infiltration of a UAV.

In total, there were about 30 launches from Lebanon into Israel since midnight. All were intercepted or exploded in open areas, with the exception of the rocket strike last night in Kiryat Shmona and the drone strike in a military zone in Shomra.

Regarding the firing into the Safed area, the IDF said: Two launches were detected that crossed from Lebanon, one was intercepted, and another launch fell in an open area.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is conducting a security situation assessment together with Defense Minister Yisrael Katz and the heads of the defense establishment, following the ongoing escalation on the northern border.
