Significant development: The police arrested a 17-year-old Arab-Israeli boy from Lod on suspicion of involvement in the murder of Olga and Ruslan Prikhodko, residents of the city of Rishon LeZion.

According to a report on the i24 channel, suspicions are growing that the background to the murder is nationalistic, and the General Security Service is now actively involved in the investigation, alongside the Central Intelligence Agency.

The suspect in the act was arrested last night, in a raid by the Yamm fighters at the Lod train station, directed by the Shin Bet and Yamm Central Command.

His brother was involved in a car bombing at the Glilot intersection two years ago, in which one person was murdered and several were injured.

The couple's bodies were found last Friday, shot inside a vehicle, in an open area between the Mishmar Ayalon settlement and the Carmei Yosef settlement.

Initially, the Shin Bet was involved in the investigation - but it was later reported that the police were the only party handling the investigation. Now, as mentioned, there has been a turnaround and the General Security Service has returned to the investigation.

The police estimate that the couple were "chosen" at random, and there was no prior acquaintance between them.

However, suspicions are growing within the security establishment that the suspect did not act alone, but was part of a broader terrorist cell.

The police initially suspected that this was a murder-suicide or a double homicide of the couple. Initial autopsy findings revealed that Olga's body had several gunshot wounds to her upper body and head, and Ruslan had only one - in his chin.

The couple left their home in the morning after informing their family that they intended to go on a trip without giving an exact destination. After losing contact with them during the day, the concerned family contacted the police and emphasized that these were completely normal people with no mental health issues, but noted that the husband owns a licensed gun, but the gun remained at home and no other weapons were found.

Following the report, investigation and location operations were carried out, which led to their discovery, lifeless, in the Ayalon Guard area.
