Elkana Bohbot, one of the producers of the 'Nova Festival' who returned from Hamas captivity in the Gaza Strip on the eve of Simchat Torah, revealed a shocking incident of severe psychological abuse by the terrorists.
Hohbat described how the terrorists took advantage of a rich meal they served the hostages to psychologically harm them - immediately afterwards.

He said this during a special interview he gave to the 'Voice of Nova' podcast.
""One day we had this meal there that he made for us, they brought us lamb shank, it's called mandi, it's the richest meal in Gaza." He added and described the moment the food was served: "Suddenly in the middle of the day he brings you a tray of lamb shank with rice, but they make it in the ground, and it's delicious, and it's rich, it's a very rich Arab dish and he gives it to us.".
Buhbot noted that, along with two other hostages, they ate the meal quickly for fear that the terrorist would regret it.
After the meal was over, Buhbut turned to the terrorist and pointed out to him that this was food that expressed great respect: "Listen, this is very respectful, this is food with a lot of respect.".
In response, the terrorist told him: "Come, come, I'll show you what honor is, come, I'll show you why you ate that.".
Immediately afterwards, the terrorist opened a video and presented them with the difficult incident in which the fighters of the engineering department were killed by a bomb explosion, while telling him: "Today we killed thirty of you, enjoy your appetite.".
Bohbot signed: "He shows you the video, you vomit everything. I have never had such abuse in my life.".
