National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir delivered a strong speech today (Monday) at the opening of the Otzma Yehudit faction meeting in the Knesset - calling on Prime Minister Netanyahu to stop what he called the "routine of terror" in the north.
Ben-Gvir demanded that Netanyahu apply direct pressure on US President Donald Trump, return to the war at full intensity, and announce the establishment of a new security zone within Lebanese territory.
He began his remarks by describing the difficult security reality facing the residents of the north, and warned of the dangers of attempting to reach political settlements instead of a clear military decision.
""Alarms, unmanned aerial vehicles, explosive drones - this reality must not be accepted, and must not be normalized. We already know how it ends when we contain and adapt to a terrorist routine. Not this time. This trolling needs to stop now.".
""I call on the Prime Minister - pick up the phone, call Trump, get to him and knock on the table. Make it clear that the State of Israel is not ready to accept, not ready to accommodate. Make it clear that we are not ready to continue the campaigns - but to defeat them.".
According to him, "We need to cut off the electricity in Lebanon, occupy Ad Zahrani, and even more than that - and return to a massive war.".
""The State of Israel cannot absorb and contain, absorb and contain... I tell the Prime Minister to stop this now and this time with all his might, until the enemy is destroyed.".
He added: "We need to tell the residents of southern Lebanon the truth - you are not returning home. You will not return home. Until there is peace here. If the Lebanese government does not control the terrorists, if the Lebanese government does not control Hezbollah, then the area south of the Litani River and even more so south of Zaharani will become a security zone for the State of Israel.".
""We need to turn off the electricity, turn off the switch and make it clear to them: If there is terrorism, you will suffer.".
Ben Gvir emphasized: "We must bring complete peace to the residents of the north. The security of the residents of the north is not on the discussion table, it is in the activities of the IDF. The IDF can and must win. The time has come to decide, the time has come to win a complete victory, the State of Israel can do it. And I say to the Prime Minister with all my love for him: We must win in Lebanon as well.".
