Investigators from the Protection South faction in Lahav 433 have completed the investigation into extortion and collection of protection fees from contractors in the Rishon LeZion area - using an infrastructure company they established.
After approximately 30 days of investigation, during which suspicions of extortion of sponsorship fees, collection of sponsorship fees, and money laundering were investigated against residents of Hura and owners of security companies, a prosecutor's statement was submitted today (Monday) regarding the intention to file an indictment against 3 residents of Hura and two residents of Kiryat Gat, and a request for detention until the end of the proceedings.
Additionally, the compound where the suspects were located within the work site was demolished with the assistance of the Land Law Enforcement Authority.
According to the suspicion, three residents of Hura extorted and collected protection fees from contractors at work sites in the Rishon LeZion area, under the guise of security services, while security companies provided them with accounting cover.
As part of an undercover investigation, an infrastructure work company was established that arrived at the work site, and after some time, the suspects approached the contractor regarding the payment of security fees, telling the contractor: "I'm a security company... 300 shekels per night, invoice, all set. If you give cash, it's less than what I'll tell you with an invoice.".
