The judge: 'I heard that there are those who raise idle claims against the MKs, supposedly because of them there is persecution against the world of Torah, that is why we came to participate in the joy''

This evening (Sunday), Rabbi Zilberstein, rabbi of the Ramat Elchanan neighborhood, participated in the wedding celebration of the grandson of Degel HaTorah chairman MK Moshe Gafni, with the daughter of Rabbi Avraham Rubinstein, head of the 'Nachalat Moshe' kollel and secretary of the 'Degel' council, which was held in the halls of 'Heichlei Malchut' in Bnei Brak.

Rabbi Zilberstein was honored to deliver words of encouragement and blessing during the mitzvah meal, and chose to strengthen in a rare and exceptional way the rabbinical emissaries, the two in-laws.

Below is a transcript of his remarks:

""Thank God, we are in the great joy of people whose title is 'Shlucha Drabnan', from all directions. From the groom's side: he is the grandson of our great esteemed one, who was a rabbi for many years and was loyal to the great men of Israel, Rabbi Moshe Gafni. From the bride's side: she is the daughter of our great esteemed one, Rabbi Avraham Rubinstein, who for years was a rabbi and ran the city of Bnei Brak to its glory.".

We are blessed that the great men of Israel, the leaders of the generation, have placed their trust in the two in-laws here, Rabbi Gafni and Rabbi Rubinstein, each in their own field, who do everything they can so that the world of Torah and yeshiva will continue to flourish and prosper.

""I have heard that there are people who make all kinds of idle claims against members of Knesset, that supposedly because of them there is persecution against the world of Torah and yeshiva students, but thank God we have been successful and there is a leader for the generation, namely the Maran Rosh Yeshiva Rabbi Dov Lando, who wrote in his letter to the Haredi members of Knesset of Degel HaTorah two weeks ago: 'You have done your mission faithfully above and beyond'! This is a letter that could appear in the heavens of heaven!

"That is why we came here to participate in the great joy, and to honor the rabbinical emissaries for all their sublime actions on behalf of the world of Torah.".

At this point, Rabbi Zilberstein went beyond his usual routine and shared with the participants of the celebration about one of the actions that MK Gafni had taken for the sanctity of Shabbat: "Just recently, a large company approached us and forced them to open their store on Shabbat at the airport - Ben Gurion Airport, and we approached Rabbi Gafni who took up the gauntlet and made sure that they did not desecrate Shabbat, and what other ministers and MKs did not succeed in - Rabbi Gafni had great divine help and spoke with his wisdom what needed to be said, and he succeeded, and the name of heaven in the world was sanctified thanks to him! This is something tremendous.".

He concluded his remarks with words of encouragement about the situation: "We are in a situation where we do not know what day it will be, all the nations of the world are against us, and Israel's enemies in Iran are plotting to destroy us, but we have no refuge except this Torah! Yesterday was the holiday of Shavuot and we were privileged to receive the Torah out of love, and there is a great midrash in the Song of Songs on the verse 'As a rose among the trees, so is my wife among the daughters,' and the midrash writes: 'At the time when they said, 'Israel, we will do and we will listen,' said the Blessed One, 'For the sake of this rose, the orchard will be saved, by virtue of the Torah and the eloquence, the world will be saved'!"

""The greatest thing in the world today is to sanctify the name of God, and we bless on behalf of everyone. We are present at the sanctification of the name of God. A person who is honored to be sanctified in the name of God is tremendous. We declare: Let us sanctify the name of God! To do what the great men of Israel say, not considering anything, knowing that it is all vanity. In such a beautiful way we will sanctify the name of God here. We all bless Rabbi Rubinstein and his mother-in-law, that they may be honored to be sanctified in the name of God, and we say Amen.".
