President Isaac Herzog has frozen the processing of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's pardon request.

According to a report this evening (Sunday) by Tamar Almog on 'Kan News', the treatment was frozen after the Prime Minister completely ignored President Herzog's invitation to enter into dialogue - in an attempt to reach agreements with the prosecution.

Herzog invited Netanyahu to a discussion about a month ago. Attorney Gali Baharav Meara expressed support for the move, but the prime minister did not respond to the request - either positively or negatively.

Netanyahu's testimony in his trial is scheduled to end soon, and once it ends, the pardon request will be redundant.

Last February, US President Donald Trump attacked Herzog, saying: "He should be ashamed of himself for not granting Netanyahu a pardon.".
