Yesterday (Wednesday) afternoon, Border Guard soldiers and volunteers, along with Nature and Parks Authority inspectors, raided a hidden tent complex in the Pelech Forest, near Achihud.
During the operation, the forces located "shacks" and tents in the forest, including five illegal residents, residents of the Hebron area, without legal residence permits in Israel.
The suspects were arrested at the scene.
During a search conducted in the "Zolut" and tents, a substance suspected of being drugs was seized.
At the end of the activity, the 'zolots' and tents were dismantled by inspectors from the Nature and Parks Authority.
The five suspects were taken for questioning at the Western Galilee station in the Coastal District, and were subsequently imprisoned.
This morning, at the request of police investigators, the suspects were brought before a judge at the Acre Magistrate's Court, who granted the request and extended their detention for the purpose of continuing the investigation and filing indictments.
