The murder suspect, Dr. Timahoni Street, was located at the end of a manhunt that was conducted after him while he was hiding in a synagogue in the city of Beit Shemesh.

According to a report by Lee Ayish on Channel I24, the murder was preceded by a threat: In recent days, the suspect in the murder, who has a mental health background, came to the kollel, and an argument developed between him and the victim, apparently over the background of aliyah to the Torah. Even then, the suspect threatened the victim and told him:
"I'll take care of you.".

Rabbi Yishai Por, the late, was murdered yesterday afternoon while he was sitting and studying in a community with his only son, 13, at the 'Kollel Hazon Ish' synagogue on Maharashtrian Street in Bnei Brak.

His funeral left last night around midnight from the Hazon Ish synagogue, attended by thousands, for the city's Ponevezh cemetery.

An initial investigation revealed that there was a previous acquaintance between the deceased and the suspect, but there were no previous complaints from the deceased.
