Crews arriving at the scene detected smoke coming from an apartment on the fourth floor. Firefighters began operations to extinguish the fire while simultaneously searching for trapped people, with the assistance of a crane.
The forces that searched the apartments of the building rescued two adults and a baby, who were in heavy smoke, while simultaneously extinguishing the fire in the living room of the apartment.
Lahav Ezra Emek, incident commander: "Upon arriving at the scene, we saw a mother and baby screaming for help from the floor where the fire broke out. The firefighters worked quickly to rescue them.

""The fire was centered in the living room of the apartment and the heavy smoke spread throughout the building, and we ordered the residents to stay indoors until we completed the smoke-clearing operations.".
""In this incident, we see the importance of installing a smoke detector in the home! The smoke detector alerts us when a fire breaks out and allows us to escape the apartment.""
