Fighters from the elite unit Shayetet 13 began today (Monday) an operation to take over the naval flotilla to Gaza - which set off from Turkey.
The operational activities of the naval commando forces take place hundreds of nautical miles from the coast of Israel.
The forces are operating in the high seas with the aim of stopping the progress of the ships, which are seeking to reach the shores of the Gaza Strip - in order to break the blockade.
The flotilla includes 57 vessels that left Marmaris, Turkey, last week with hundreds of pro-Palestinian activists on board.
The flotilla involves the IHH organization - which was behind the Mavi Marmara flotilla in 2010, when activists attacked the fighters of Fleet 13 with knives and clubs, snatched weapons from a fighter, and opened fire on the force.
Israel makes it clear that the cruise ship will not be allowed to break the maritime blockade.
In recent days, the IDF has been preparing for a physical takeover using fighters from the 13th Fleet and naval forces.
