Michal Uziahu, head of the Eshkol Regional Council, eulogized: "Negev is the son of Hava and Shalom and a brother of five. Negev was a sociable, opinionated young man who was very loved by his friends. Even as a boy, he worked very diligently, loved to repair old vehicles, and was connected to doing things with his hands and in his own independent way.
""We share in the deep sorrow of the family, his friends and the Dekel community. The council and moshav teams are accompanying the family and close circles and will assist in whatever is needed at this difficult time.".
Defense Minister Israel Katz: "I received with great sadness the news of the death of Sergeant Negev Dagan, a fighter in the Golani Brigade, who fell in battle in southern Lebanon. On behalf of the entire defense establishment, I send my deepest condolences to his family and hug them at this most difficult time.".
""I wish to strengthen the IDF soldiers and security forces who are still operating in Lebanon at this time with determination, courage and dedication to protect the northern communities and restore security to the residents. The State of Israel will continue to act forcefully in the face of any threat until all war goals are achieved. May his memory be blessed.".
Dagan is the 19th IDF casualty to fall in Lebanon since the outbreak of the "Harry Potter Roar," and the sixth since the beginning of the so-called "ceasefire.".
Yesterday, an explosive drone from Lebanon hit the Rosh Hanikra National Park parking lot, without any alarms being activated. Three civilians were injured, including one critically from shrapnel and the impact, one moderately from shrapnel, and one lightly. The IDF said that the drone was launched by Hezbollah, and that this was a "blatant violation of the ceasefire agreements" in Lebanon.
