The incident occurred on April 26, 2026, at approximately 6:30 a.m. According to the indictment, filed through attorney Mirit Levy Hasson, the boy was waiting at a bus stop in the city of Beit Shemesh, when Oppenheim stopped near him with his car and asked him where he was headed. The boy replied that he was on his way to prayer at the synagogue. The defendant offered to take him there, and the boy got into the car.

During the trip, Oppenheim turned onto a dirt road in the area of Highway 10, near Kibbutz Heftziba, and committed serious acts on the child inside the vehicle.

The prosecution is asking the court to order his arrest until the end of the legal proceedings against him.

In the request for detention until the end of the proceedings, Attorney Mirit Levy Hasson noted, among other things, that Oppenheim was only recently convicted of serious offenses and sentenced to 6 years in prison.

It also states that he committed the current offense while waiting to be admitted to Nitzan Prison, where he was scheduled to report soon, "in a manner that clearly indicates significant dangerousness, audacity, and a lack of fear of the law.".

The investigation was conducted by the Beit Shemesh police station.
