An initial investigation into the circumstances of the incident revealed that the victim drove the suspects to the city of Modi'in for a fee. During the trip, the suspects began to threaten him and demanded that he drive them to the ultra-Orthodox city of Modi'in Illit, threatening to harm him if he refused.

The victim, feeling threatened, complied with their demands. At one point, when he spotted a police car and asked to signal for help, the suspects threatened him again in order to prevent him from contacting the police. Upon reaching their destination, the suspects attacked the victim with punches all over his body, causing him bruises and bleeding, and robbed him of his laptop.

Following rapid investigative actions by Modi'in Illit police, four suspects were located and arrested: three minors aged 16-17 and a 19-year-old adult, residents of Modi'in Illit, involved in the case.

During the day, they will be brought to court for a hearing on a request to extend their detention, in order to continue the investigation into their case.
