For the 16th time in a row: Yad L'Achim's huge raffle for a luxurious Torah scroll has begun.
Maran HaGard Lando received at his residence a special delegation of the leaders of the activist organization 'Yad L'Achim', and gave a special blessing for the life-saving activity that they have been leading for nearly eighty years.
The delegation visited the residence of the Maran Rosh HaYeshiva on the occasion of the special appeal announced by the activists' organization, as every year at this time, and which includes a huge raffle for a luxurious Torah scroll.

At the center of the visit, the Maran was presented with the Torah scroll on which the lottery would be held. The Rosh Yeshiva took the quill in his hand, leaned over the sacred parchment and wrote a single letter on it.
Afterwards, the Grand Rabbi Landau listened for a long hour from the leaders of the activists to wonderful and exciting testimonies about the activities over the past few months, on all fronts: rescuing Jews from the Shat rebellion, removing Yaqar from the devourer from Arab villages, and the heroic struggles against the Covenant-breakers, the missionary sects and their people who continue to deceive and do everything in their power to convert stray Jews to their religion.
The Grand Rabbi Lando strengthened the hands of the leaders of Yad L'Achim and asked to convey, in their name and through them, his blessing to each and every one of the participants in the raffle, all proceeds of which were consecrated for the benefit of the rescue systems.
Among other things, he mentioned the well-known ruling of Maimonides, which ruled that "you have no greater commandment than the redemption of captives.".
This is the 16th consecutive year that the Yad L'Achim activist organization is dedicating the days of the Sefirah, during which every individual and every community seeks to purify and sanctify themselves in the holiness of God, to a special huge raffle for the most exquisite and elegant book of the generation.

Over the past 15 years, 15 families from all walks of life have been honored among the people of God to bring the Torah scroll into the presence of God, with great pomp and splendor, with Yad La'Ahim covering the expenses associated with the Torah scroll introduction ceremony, and its leaders and activists are among the multitudes celebrating in the procession and at the Torah scroll introduction ceremony.
Yad L'Achim once again reminded that this year, the winner will also have the opportunity to choose the exact format of the Torah scroll, in accordance with the traditions of his ancestors – according to the customs of the Ashkenazi or the customs of the Eastern communities. The Torah scroll will also be covered accordingly: a mantle and a crown, or alternatively a luxurious case.
The current lottery will be held at Yad L'Achim's headquarters, on Jerusalem Street in Bnei Brak, accompanied by a certified public accountant, in the days leading up to Shavuot. The name of the lucky winner will be announced the next day.
