The National Cyber Directorate reported that last night (Tuesday) the distribution of Iranian scare messages in Hebrew was detected, which were sent to many Israelis with the aim of causing panic and harming the public's sense of security.

Additional messages read: "We promised you that soon you will see stars in the night sky that are not stars... soon you will see the sun in the night sky but..." and "We are buying your videos about the Iran-Israel war.".

According to the Cyber Division's explanation, this is a familiar pattern of attempts at influence in the digital space, which includes threatening, dramatic, or stressful messages sent directly to recipients to cause them to act out of fear.

So what do we do?

The organization emphasizes that one should not reply to such messages, not click on links if they are attached, and not forward the content.

It was also stated that one should rely solely on information published by official sources.

In addition, the organization clarifies that simply receiving this type of message does not necessarily indicate that the device or account has been hacked, and that it is usually a widespread distribution whose main purpose is to create panic.

In recent months, intimidating messages have been sent to citizens in Israel several times.
