The terrorist organization Hezbollah released a video today (Sunday) documenting an explosive drone penetrating Israeli territory in the western sector and hitting an Iron Dome battery.
The battery was supposed to provide protection in the Western Galilee area. The incident occurred over the weekend.
The video shows the drone operator considering how he should act - facing the battery's missile launchers or facing a line of fighters who were standing nearby and did not defend themselves against the threat.
According to a report by Carmela Menashe in Kan News, Hezbollah has recently been working to strike military targets - not only in Lebanese territory but also inside Israel, with its goal being to harm fighters, but also to cause great damage to the IDF's advanced weapons.
This was the case when an explosive drone hit the Alpha truck of the artillery battery near Shomra, and as a result of the impact, dozens of shells on it exploded and 12 fighters were injured.
Reserve soldiers in Lebanon testified on the B network about the drone threat: "The feeling is like poker, the drone arrives quietly - there are no warnings and that's it, we are exposed.".
One of the fighters added: "You don't know when it will arrive, you have no way to cope and defend against it. Recently, through our private initiatives, we have obtained fishing nets and other equipment from private companies, and this is currently the only means of defense against suicide drones. I see the drone with the fiber optic - it comes quietly, it can appear by surprise.".
The fighter said: "We managed to hit them with small arms fire from a distance of 30-40 meters. We are completely exposed - a situation where you don't know when it will arrive because there are no targeted alerts, no warning. There is a general alert, it arrives quietly and explodes, and if you fly it low, it arrives suddenly, exploding on the target.".
However, he said: "I am satisfied with the mission and if we need to pray, we pray and keep our cool.".
