The IDF published documentation today (Sunday) showing operational cooperation between an operator of a remotely piloted aerial vehicle (UAV) from the Air Force and an officer from the Kfir Brigade operating in the Gaza Strip.
During the operation in the southern Gaza Strip, a terrorist suspected of planting an explosive device was identified, with the aim of harming the fighting forces in the field.
In a quick close-circuit, the aircraft attacked the suspect - removing the immediate threat to the fighters.
In the leaked communication recording, the drone operator is heard addressing an officer in the field and asking: "I heard you're looking for something, is it urgent?""
After answering in the affirmative, the operator reported to the Southern Command: "There is some urgent incident on 900, which I want to jump to. There may be something that endangers the forces.".
Immediately afterwards, the operator moved to the execution phase and verified readiness for the attack. "Are you ready? One. Two, three, launch," the operator is heard saying in the recording just before hitting the terrorist.
The IDF stated that the formation continues to assist maneuvering forces in all sectors, in both offensive and defensive missions, throughout the day and night.
