Last week, Border Guard agents, under the direction of the General Security Service, operated in the village of Burkin and arrested two wanted individuals suspected of terrorist activity.
During the operation, the two suspects were arrested and transferred to the Shin Bet for further investigation.
During his interrogation, one of the wanted men admitted to possessing additional explosives that were disposed of at his home.
Over the weekend, in a joint operation by Judea and Samaria Border Guard fighters, together with IDF forces from the Menashe Brigade, and under the direction of the Shin Bet, the forces worked to locate the explosives.
During the search, the explosives were located, which were concealed inside fire extinguishers and gas cylinders. The explosives were destroyed in a controlled manner by Judea and Samaria Border Police saboteurs.
The defense establishment emphasizes that these charges were intended to harm the security forces and citizens of the State of Israel, and that their detection and thwarting of their use prevented a real danger.
