Intelligence gathering activity by a coordinator in the 'Arrow of Judah' unit during the past week revealed several cases in which Molotov cocktails and stones were thrown towards the 'Tunnel Road' - a major traffic artery towards Jerusalem.

Only by a miracle were there no casualties or property damage in these cases.

Thanks to accurate information and collection, the Crime Fighting Unit and the Arrow Unit acted on the morning of last Tuesday and arrested a Palestinian rioter, a resident of Bethlehem, and he was transferred for questioning in the Judea police area.

In light of investigative findings and cooperation with fighters from the IDF's Etzion Brigade, two additional young rioters, residents of Bethlehem, were arrested.

According to the findings of the investigation so far, the suspects, aged 13-18, rented electric scooters for ten shekels per hour prior to their actions, with the aim of reaching the Beit Jala area, and used them to reach the wall above the tunnel road towards the capital, equipped with Molotov cocktails.

The suspects acted in this way on April 29 and on two additional dates thereafter.

Despite the wall in place, the suspects managed to throw the Molotov cocktails and stones towards the road beyond the wall, thereby endangering road users.

During the day, the police will ask the District Court, as part of their investigation in the "Arrow of Judah" unit, to order an extension of their detention in order to complete the investigation and in an attempt to locate additional suspects who acted in concert with them.
