In aerial guidance: Three hikers were rescued this afternoon (Wednesday) from Nahal Darga by volunteers from the Dead Sea Scrolls police rescue unit, with the assistance of a police helicopter.
The incident began in the afternoon, when a report was received at the police hotline 100 about three hikers who had gotten into trouble deep in the Darga Stream, between the water's surface - and were unable to continue on the hiking trail.
Immediately upon receiving the report, volunteers from the Dead Sea Scrolls police rescue unit were called, who quickly arrived at the scene, joined the travelers, and began complex rescue operations along the route.
At the same time, a helicopter from the Israel Police Air Force was launched to assist in the evacuation.
With precise guidance from the air, the travelers were rescued, who were evacuated by helicopter to the Mtsuzki Dragot airstrip, safe and sound.
The police repeatedly emphasize the importance of going on trips in challenging terrain with appropriate equipment and advance preparation.
