This was reported this morning (Tuesday) in the Lebanese newspaper Al-Akhbar.

According to the report, quoted in 'Kan News', Aoun explained in the meeting: "We must first reach a security agreement and bring about an end to Israeli attacks on our territory, before we raise the subject of the meeting between us.".

Aoun added that the American pressure on him is increasing, and that his planned visit to the United States may not take place following his refusal to meet with Netanyahu.

At the same time, the Lebanese president emphasized: "There is no way back from the path of negotiations - because we have no other choice," and that "the goals set for the negotiations are based on an Israeli withdrawal from the occupied Lebanese territories and the return of Lebanese prisoners, which are the rights that Lebanon has been demanding for years.".

The Lebanese Forces is a leading right-wing Christian party in Lebanon. It began as a militia during the civil war and is now a major political force in the opposition. It advocates Lebanese sovereignty, opposes the influence of Hezbollah and Iran, and supports the disarmament of Hezbollah - a line led by the Lebanese president.
