The United States Central Command announced: "U.S. Navy guided-missile destroyers are now operating in the Arabian Gulf after transiting the Strait of Hormuz in support of Operation Freedom.".
"US forces are actively assisting in efforts to restore passage to commercial shipping. Two US-flagged merchant ships have successfully transited the Strait of Hormuz and are safely on their way.".
