Starting in the early morning hours, hundreds of police officers, Border Guard soldiers, and traffic police officers are working on Mount Meron to maintain public safety and the peace of those celebrating the festival.
According to the police, so far thousands of people have been prevented from entering the Meron area and the arrival of hundreds of buses - which were moving in violation of instructions - has been thwarted.
The broadcast emphasized: "It is important to emphasize that we are witnessing publications that may mislead the public about unauthorized public entry to the mountain and clarify that this is about the entry of a minority and in practice, as stated, many thousands are prevented from entering.".
The police added: "Even now, and throughout the coming days, police checkpoints are deployed on traffic routes and roads leading to the settlement. Entry will only be allowed to those who are legally authorized to do so.".
""We understand the public's strong desire to reach the mountain, but we are working resolutely to ensure that today's events take place safely and without harm to human life.".
