The Iranian Fars News Agency, affiliated with the Revolutionary Guards, reports that two Iranian missiles hit a US Navy frigate as it crossed the Strait of Hormuz - and it was forced to retreat.
The capital denies the report and claims that the US military is not aware of any damage to any of its vessels in the strait.
