Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar requested a meeting with the new Civil Service Commissioner Doron Cohen, in order to pressure him to approve the appointment of Tzachi Braverman to the position of ambassador to the United Kingdom.
This was reported today (Monday) on the 'Kelman Lieberman' program on Channel 2.
Doron Cohen will take office this Thursday, and the decision regarding Braverman, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's chief of staff, is the most explosive decision awaiting his decision.
Braverman was suspended from civil service almost since the beginning of the year, following his involvement in the "night meeting" affair in the parking lot and suspicion of attempting to disrupt the Bild investigation.
Braverman's suspension delayed his departure to London to begin his duties as ambassador.
The investigation into the 'Night Meeting' affair has been concluded, and law enforcement officials believe that the case is strong from an evidentiary perspective, and that an indictment will be filed soon, subject to a hearing.
