An IDF officer and a soldier were moderately injured earlier today (Thursday) during an operation in southern Lebanon.

The injury was caused by the fall of an explosive drone launched towards IDF forces operating in the area.

The two received initial treatment on the spot and were then evacuated to receive further medical treatment at a hospital.

Hezbollah simultaneously accepted responsibility in an official statement for 10 terrorist acts carried out today against Israel - including the injury of 12 soldiers this morning and the fall of Sergeant Liam Ben Hamo and the injury of another fighter.

Earlier this evening, the IDF updated that Sergeant Liam Ben Hamo, 19, from Herzliya, fell in battle in southern Lebanon this morning. Ben Hamo served as a soldier in the 13th Battalion of the Golani Brigade.

The incident occurred around 10:20 AM, when the terrorist organization Hezbollah carried out an explosive drone attack against IDF forces. One of the drones hit a force from Battalion 13 that was in an open area in the area of ​​the village of Qantara in southern Lebanon.

The force of the direct hit killed Sergeant Liam Ben Hamo and another soldier was moderately wounded.
