Defense Minister Yisrael Katz said today (Thursday), at a ceremony awarding the rank of major general to the next Air Force commander, that Iran has suffered significant damage in the past year, but Israel may be required to act again to complete the campaign's objectives.
Defense Minister: "Iran has suffered extremely severe blows in the past year, blows that have set it back years in all areas. The challenges facing us will only grow - and at the same time, we have historic opportunities to change the regional reality.".
US President Trump, in coordination with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, is leading the effort to complete the campaign objectives in a way that will ensure that Iran will no longer be a threat to the existence of Israel, the United States, and the free world for generations to come.
We support the effort and provide the necessary backing, but we may soon be required to act again to ensure the realization of the goals.
Alongside this, we are in a campaign against Hezbollah in Lebanon - an Iranian-backed organization that has set itself the goal of threatening and harming the residents of the north and destroying the State of Israel. Hezbollah has suffered extremely severe blows over the past two and a half years and also during "Operation Roar of the Lion," and now, within the context of the regional circumstances, we must complete the task to ensure the removal of the threat to the residents of the north and to the State of Israel.
The Air Force will also have a decisive role in achieving these goals alongside our heroic soldiers who are fighting like lions to bring security to the north. We will act and destroy all terrorist infrastructure in the security zone up to the yellow line, below and above ground, just as we did in Gaza, to remove threats from the residents of the Galilee and crush Hezbollah's capabilities throughout Lebanon. We promised security to the residents of the north, and we will do so.
Many of those present here, and certainly you, Tischler, are well aware of the challenges ahead, the plans and the goals we have outlined - some of which are of crucial significance to Israel's security. You must ensure the Air Force's readiness - not just for routine, but for any scenario.
To ensure that the force is ready to operate at any moment and every minute - in any arena, near or far, in the face of any threat.
"The State of Israel will not allow its enemies to threaten its existence. We will continue to act with determination, strength and responsibility - to ensure the security of Israel's citizens for generations.".
