The ministers held a strategic dialogue between the countries, with the participation of security and intelligence officials from both sides. After the dialogue, the ministers held a joint press conference.

Djuric, who has Jewish roots, wanted to convey a direct message to the people of Israel - in Hebrew: "Dear friends, I am very happy to be here today and I want to say thank you very much for the warm welcome I received, along with all the others who came with me. I want everyone in Israel to know that in Serbia and Belgrade they have true friends.".

He noted that the friendship between the countries is not just a matter of recent years: "It's not just from yesterday or today, it's not even from 1948, it's much, much older, and we stand with you in this difficult time. We understand perfectly everything you're going through. We went through a lot of terrible things in the 1990s and after that.".

He added: "I am very happy that today we are strengthening our relations. We had talks about the future and I am sure that in the future our relations will be stronger and stronger.".

He addressed Minister Saar: "I want to say thank you very much and also thank you very much to you and everyone in the government for what you managed to do for the kidnapped. I feel right at home here.".
