Yaakov Wider, a member of the Bnei Brak City Council, harshly attacked the elected legal advisor of the Bnei Brak municipality, Attorney Yaakov Rabad, claiming that the activists hastily promoted and approved his appointment in order to "sweep up and protect their rotten conduct," as he put it.

The appointment of the legal advisor was presented and approved at a city council meeting last month, after several years in which the municipality operated without legal advice. The appointment was approved despite the protest of Wieder, who demanded that such a fateful appointment be made in an orderly manner and not in a hasty manner during the war.

This week, the conflict resumed, after a broadcaster demanded that a tender committee meeting be canceled - because he was not invited to it and was not presented with the content of the discussion, despite being duly appointed as a member of the committee.

Wider, who requested that the meeting and the decisions made therein be canceled, was met with a negative response from the legal advisor, who defended the "mysterious conduct of the municipality," as Wider put it.

According to Wieder, this is a violation of the law and the rules of proper administration. "It is impossible for a legally appointed committee member not to be invited to a hearing, and for the decisions made therein not to be overturned. This is clear to every child, and not to the legal advisor?!""

Vider contacted the Ministry of the Interior and the district commissioner, demanding immediate intervention in the matter.

Yaakov Wider, a member of the city council, said in response to Haredim 10: "The tenders committee is a place where hundreds of millions of public funds are transferred to private entities - I will not let businessmen make decisions in the dark and without the public knowing about it. It is a shame that the legal advisor who is in charge of protecting the law defends such conduct.".

Bnei Brak Municipality's response: "The council member contacted the legal advisor and received a response in accordance with the law, but to his displeasure, and therefore, unfortunately, he chose to go around in the media hurling false slander and in a manner that is inappropriate for an elected official, and we condemn this.".
