The launch event will take place in a month in the presence of the Minister of Culture and Sports, MK Mickey Zohar, and with the participation of the Rabbi Yitzhak Yosef.

After a successful run, and 12 years after the passing of Maran HaGara Yosef, the play is officially launched to the general public, all family members and all ages.

The play deals with the many difficulties that Rabbi Ovadia Yosef went through throughout his life. Poverty, discrimination, public opposition and challenges – alongside the messages he left behind: personal empowerment, belief in one’s abilities, and the understanding that outward perfection is not the goal. The central message that emerges from the play is clear and touching: There is no need for the appearance of perfection – perfection is not everything. It is important that you try to be who you are, to the best of your ability, and do not give up..

During the play, the stories that show how far Rabbi Ovadia fought – and succeeded – stand out. He was not born into a position of power, but through determination, hard work and deep faith, he reached his position and became a symbol of a path, pride and heritage that unites an entire community.

The play features ten professional actors, including the poet and oud player Kfir Partosh. The songs incorporated into the play give it emotional depth and a connection to tradition. This is a large-scale production, with spectacular scenery and many characters from the stages of the rabbi's life.

The play is suitable for the religious and ultra-Orthodox public – but also for the secular audience. It does not preach or reprove, but rather offers a human, cultural and spiritual perspective on a figure who influenced millions. Through the rabbi’s story, a glimpse into the Jewish world is given, with a clear message: The Torah belongs to no one – it was given to everyone..

Ofer Halevi, founder and director of the "Mismachi Lev" theater, who plays the adult character of Rabbi Ovadia in the play: "Rabbi Ovadia was not a story of perfection - he was a story of struggle. He grew out of difficulty, out of discrimination and out of a difficult reality, and believed in himself even when people didn't believe in him. This is the message we want to convey - that everyone can. You don't have to be perfect to be great. You have to fight, not give up and believe that God, blessed be He, has given you a role in the world. This play is not just about Rabbi Ovadia - it's about every person who feels like they're not enough, and wants to discover that they are.""

''Mismachi Lev', managed by Ofer Halevi, which has been operating for about 25 years, was established out of a desire to produce professional, high-quality culture tailored to the Haredi audience. Its path was not easy, but today it is recognized and funded by the Ministry of Culture and appears before audiences from all sectors.

The launch event in the presence of the Minister of Culture and Sports marks not only an artistic step up - but also state recognition of the importance of professional, high-quality, and cohesive Haredi culture.
