21 years after the expulsion, the official return to the settlement of Sha-Nur in northern Samaria was marked this week in a historic ceremony, when the head of the Samaria Regional Council, Yossi Dagan, himself a Sha-Nur deportee, affixed a mezuzah to the door of his new home in the settlement.
The mezuzah installation took place in the presence of Defense Minister Israel Katz, Housing Minister Haim Katz, Yossi and his wife Uriah, members of Dagan's family, and guests.
Dagan, who in recent years led the struggle to amend the disengagement law and return to the settlements of Northern Samaria, excitedly welcomed the placement of the mezuzah.
Immediately afterwards, his wife Uriah excitedly blessed him with the blessing, "That we have lived and sustained and reached this time.".
The return event, which constitutes a milestone in the struggle for the Land of Israel, was accompanied by significant declarations for the expansion of settlement.
Defense Minister Yisrael Katz announced during the events that 140 farms will soon be regulated, and Minister Bezalel Smotrich announced the establishment of 11 new settlements in northern Samaria.
For Dagan, who was uprooted from his home in Sha-Nur over two decades ago, this is both a personal and national victory that constitutes a historical correction.
""The spirit, faith, determination and tears have won!" said the head of the council at a ceremony that symbolizes the beginning of a new era in northern Samaria. "We will clear dozens of more settlements on the way to turning Samaria into the heart of the Land of Israel.".
