President Donald Trump was surprised to discover last night (Friday night) during a press conference held at the White House that Lebanese law prohibits its citizens from having any contact with Israelis - and promised to put an end to it.
The press conference took place after an extended meeting in the Oval Office with the participation of Vice President J.D. Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, the US ambassador to Israel and Lebanon - and the ambassadors of Israel and Lebanon in Washington.
A Lebanese journalist said: We cannot communicate with Israelis, it is a crime for us and it is a question of the entire relationship built between Israel and Lebanon.
The president responded in astonishment: How is this a crime?
The journalist replied: According to Lebanese law, it is a crime to communicate with Israelis.
The president turned his head to his men: "I think we're going to have to put an end to this, this is something that will have to stop, I've never heard of it.
""This is a good start, is it a crime to talk to Israelis?... I'm pretty sure this reality is going to change very quickly, I'll make sure it goes away.".
