Following a sensitive investigation conducted by investigators at the Dimona Police Station, a prosecutor's statement was filed today (Thursday) against the father of a 7-week-old baby, a Dimona resident in his 30s, on suspicion of murdering his son.
About a month ago, at noon, the police received a report from Soroka Hospital in Be'er Sheva about a 7-week-old baby who was brought to the medical center suffering from serious injuries and bruises to his body.
Upon receiving the report, the station's investigators immediately launched an investigation, during which the baby's parents were arrested on suspicion of involvement in causing the injuries.
Two days after the report, the baby was pronounced dead at the hospital.
A special investigation team established at the Dimona station conducted a complex and intensive investigation, which included collecting findings and evidence, along with collecting testimonies, which led to the formation of a seemingly well-founded evidentiary foundation against the baby's father.
The suspect's detention was extended from time to time, and at the conclusion of the investigation, a prosecutor's statement was submitted by the Southern District Attorney's Office, regarding the intention to file an indictment against him and a request for detention until the end of the proceedings.
