Fighters from the Hasmonean Brigade, operating in southern Lebanon, arrested yesterday (Wednesday) a terrorist from the Radwan Force - Hezbollah's elite unit.

According to an IDF spokesman, the forces, who are engaged in prolonged activity south of the front defense line, identified the terrorist while he was planning to carry out a terrorist plot against IDF forces in the immediate future.

Shortly after the terrorist was identified by the brigade's fighters, and following the heavy operational pressure exerted by IDF forces in the area to destroy the terrorist infrastructure, the terrorist chose to surrender.

He was arrested by forces on the ground and immediately transferred for further investigation to Unit 504 of the Intelligence Division.

Yinon Shalom Yatach, the military correspondent for Channel I24, reported new details from the 'terrorist surrender' in southern Lebanon:

1. The incident began yesterday around 8:45 AM, when a call was received from Unit 504 about a Hezbollah terrorist who had been located in the Christian village of Ramish - after being beaten and stabbed multiple times by several local Christians. According to testimonies from the force on the ground, the locals contacted the army to capture him.
2. A force from the Yehonatan Battalion, the first regular battalion of the Hashmonaim Brigade, was sent by Brigade 300 to retrieve him - but the terrorist managed to escape moments before they arrived. The force raised a drone into the air and began scanning for him with the help of surveillance.
3. A short time later, they were able to spot him on the outskirts of the village trying to escape from the forces. Hasmonean fighters shot at him to stop him and he fell to the ground.
4. At first, they thought he was killed by the gunfire - but it turns out the gunfire missed. He was captured and brought in for questioning at 504 - where it turned out he was from Radwan's force.
