The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman responded today (Wednesday) to President Donald Trump's announcement of an extension of the ceasefire - and stated that Iran had accepted the proposal.
The spokesman said: "Iran has accepted US President Donald Trump's proposal to extend the ceasefire. The Americans continue to change their positions. We have not yet decided whether to participate in the next round of talks.".
Last night, Trump announced the extension of the ceasefire until the Iranian proposals are submitted for the negotiations, which were scheduled to be held today in Islamabad, Pakistan.
The president complied with all requests from Pakistani Chief of Staff Asim Munir and Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif - who sought to postpone the deadline, claiming that the Iranian government was "divided.".
Trump ordered the US military to continue the naval blockade of Iran and maintain full alert - until Iranian leaders submit a "unified proposal.".
