The Jerusalem Theater held a World Bible Quiz for Jewish youth today (Wednesday).
16 outstanding teenagers, selected from hundreds of candidates in Jewish communities around the world, participate in the quiz.
This year, youth from seven countries are participating in the quiz, bringing with them an exciting mosaic of Diaspora Jewry.
From Israel, participants include Georgi Rivnikov, Hodiya Cohen, Yedidiya Mulayev, and Yael Yau; from the United States, Akiva (Jack) Schreier, Yehoshua Applebaum, and Hadassah; from England, Leah Gitel Ostroff; from South Africa, Tehila Ranels and Haim Goldfein; from Mexico, Sara Shashu Shlouch and Miriam Ditchey; from Panama, Jackie Panono and Alan Eitan; and from Canada, Michelle Gamliel and Maya Varskin.
The event is being held in the presence of the Minister of Education, Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana, and Jerusalem Mayor Moshe Leon.
The quiz is hosted by Sarah B.K.
This year's quiz includes a panel of judges with deep significance: alongside Knesset Speaker and question writer Liron Ben Moshe, the judging panel also includes representatives of the bereaved families from the 'Iron Swords' war - Avraham Revach, father of Major Dvir Revach, and Rachel Goldberg, widow of Rabbi Avi Goldberg.
