Rama Devaji, wife of New York Mayor Zoharan Mammadani, was interviewed by an art magazine.
During the interview, she apologized for the first time for her racist remarks about African-Americans, and responded with affection and encouragement to those who celebrated the Simchat Torah massacre: "I feel great shame confronting the language I used. I have read and seen much of what others have said in response. I understand the pain I caused and I truly apologize.".
