Last night, during an inspection of vehicles making their way from the territories to the State of Israel at the Maccabim Crossing, a female driver, a resident of Ramat Gan in her 40s, was arrested, with eight Palestinians, residents of Judea and Samaria without entry permits, hiding in the vehicle.
The driver of the vehicle suspected of transporting them was arrested, along with those who attempted to infiltrate the country illegally. The arrested suspects were taken for questioning at the Modi'in Illit station in the Sha'i district.
As part of this investigation, it emerged that one of the Palestinians had previously been convicted of security offenses, including throwing Molotov cocktails and throwing stones at Israeli vehicles.
In a hearing held this morning in the court, the suspect's detention was extended at the request of the police until April 17, 26, in order to complete the investigation into her case. The other suspects were imprisoned and the investigation continues.
