The Police Investigations Department filed an indictment against a police officer today (Tuesday) for assault causing actual bodily harm and obstruction of justice.
According to the indictment filed with the Jerusalem Magistrate's Court by Attorney Lidor Malko, on December 28, 2024, during a routine patrol in Jerusalem, a team of YSM police officers, including the defendant, joined Border Guard soldiers in a pursuit of two teenagers who had boarded a bus at the city's central bus station.
The bus driver opened the bus doors for the police and Border Guard soldiers who arrested the boys and took them off the bus.
The defendant later ordered the driver to turn off the bus engine and hand him the keys - but she refused.
In response, the defendant attacked the driver and forcibly removed her from the bus, pulling her by her coat and headscarf.
The defendant threw her to the ground and punched her in the upper body, then left the scene while she was lying on the ground.
Later, the defendant even wrote an action report in which he avoided mentioning the sequence of events.
As a result of the incident, the complainant suffered injuries to her body.
In his actions, according to the indictment, the defendant attacked the complainant and caused her significant injury, and also acted with the intent to disrupt a judicial process by omitting material details from the action report.
