The fourth day of the search operation for yeshiva student Avraham Yeshayahu ben Shoshana Spiegel, the 17-year-old boy from Jerusalem - who has been missing since Friday afternoon on Sanz Beach in Netanya - is underway feverishly, in light of a calm in the strength of the waves.
Large forces of police, ZAKA, rescue forces and volunteers are working along the coastline and in the water - in an attempt to locate a clue. Today, with improved sea conditions and calmer waves compared to the rough seas that prevailed yesterday, ZAKA's diver unit teams entered deeper activity in the depths of the sea, while expanding the diving ranges and underwater scans.
Following a situation assessment conducted by the search and rescue unit, a decision was made to change the search area: a professional analysis of the currents and marine drift in recent days indicated a high probability that the missing person drifted northward, from the original drowning point on the Sanz coast.
As a result, divers are expanding their activities to greater depths, using advanced technological means. At the same time, drones and additional forces are operating in accordance with the updated search sector.
In parallel with the activities at sea, volunteer teams continue to conduct foot searches along the coastline, while expanding the search circles.
Haim Otmazgin, commander of the ZAKA special units: "With the improvement in sea conditions this morning, we expanded the diving activity to greater depths, while operating skilled teams and advanced equipment. At the same time, after a professional analysis of the currents and drift, it was decided to encrypt the search area, and we are acting accordingly in an attempt to locate the missing person as soon as possible.".
The tragedy occurred when Avraham Yeshayahu drowned along with his brother Issachar Dov, 21, on the beach in Sanz. The brother was pulled from the water by passersby, in very serious condition, and has since been hospitalized at the Laniado Medical Center.
The traces of his brother Abraham Isaiah disappeared into the sea.
