Baruch Dayan, the truth teller: The late Rabbi Menachem Lichtman, from the 'Shma'a Tefilati' congregation in the Kiryat Herzog neighborhood in Bnei Brak, passed away tonight (Monday) at the age of 52.

The deceased, Z"L, felt unwell and a rescue paramedic living in the building quickly came down, but he lost consciousness. After prolonged resuscitation efforts, he was evacuated while still in resuscitation to the Sheba Medical Center in Tel Hashomer - where he was pronounced dead, to the dismay of his family and friends.

The late Z"l was born on the 26th of Tishrei 5774 to his father, Yavdelhat"a Rabbi Chaim Ephraim Fishel Lichtman, and his mother, Mrs. Yona Tova from Petach Tikva. In his youth, he studied at the 'Nachalat David' yeshiva in the city.

When he reached his peak, he married his wife, the daughter of Rabbi Yosef Frishman of Bnei Brak, and together they built their home in the Kiryat Herzog neighborhood. He earned his living by writing satam and was considered an expert writer and feared the sky.

In Kiryat Herzog, he was one of the founders of the Shemaa Tefilati Beit Midrash.

His acquaintances speak of a humble and upright man, who set times for Torah, and who devoted himself with all his might to strengthening Torah and learning.

He left behind a wife and six children - four of whom are married.

His funeral will leave at 11:30 a.m. from his home at 3 Rabbi Kowalski Street in the Kiryat Herzog neighborhood and will pass through the 'Shemaa Tefilati' synagogue in Kikar Ya'A - on its way to 'Segula' in Petah Tikva, where he will be buried.
