The Ministry of Finance published today (Sunday) an initial and comprehensive assessment of the economic costs of Operation 'Harry's Roar'.
According to the data, the government's direct budgetary expenditures on the operation amount to approximately 35 billion NIS.
The Ministry of Finance emphasizes that this is an estimated calculation subject to changes, and that the amount has already been included in the approved state budget for 2026.
According to the data, the bulk of the spending - amounting to approximately 22 billion shekels - was directed to the defense system, including expenses for equipping and expanding the recruitment of reserve forces beyond what was planned.
In addition, approximately 12 billion shekels were designated for compensation plans for businesses and employees, as well as for compensation for missile damage.
The outlines include, among other things, compensation for affected businesses and state-funded unemployment insurance arrangements.
Approximately one billion shekels were directed to additional civilian expenditures, including adjustments to the health system, assistance to victims of hostilities, and support for local authorities.
The expenses also include activities of the Ministry of Social Affairs to adapt responses in an emergency situation.
The Ministry of Finance emphasized that the current budget does not require an increase beyond the approved state budget. However, they noted that the amount may increase in the event of another flare-up.
