Alarms were sounded last night (Friday night) in a long line of cities in central Israel due to two launches from Lebanon. One missile was intercepted and the other fell in an open area. Shortly before, alerts were first sounded - from Ashdod to Gush Dan.
No reports of casualties were received.
The warnings were sounded in the Dan Bloc, the Shephelah, and the Sharon, and included major cities along with localities and regional councils. The alarms also included localities in the Sharon region and the surrounding area and in the Modi'in region.
Earlier this evening, alarms were sounded in Haifa, the Kiryat Shmona, the Upper Galilee, and communities along the confrontation line following four launches from Lebanon. Residents in Sharon also reported hearing explosions.
According to the report, one missile was intercepted and the rest fell in open areas. There were no reports of casualties as a result of the shooting.
The incident occurred after a day during which over 50 rockets were launched towards northern communities.
Earlier, the IDF issued a warning about the possibility of the shooting expanding to additional areas across the country, based on the observation that the terrorist organization would expand the shooting in light of Iran's failure to impose a ceasefire in Lebanon and the beginning of direct talks next week between Israel and Lebanon.
The statement reads: "In accordance with the assessment of the situation and in light of the firing from Lebanon this morning, firing at additional areas in the State of Israel is possible in the coming hours.".
The IDF emphasized that the Home Front Command's instructions must be followed and noted that the army is prepared for both defense and attack. They also assessed that there was a concern that firing would also be directed toward the center of the country, after such intentions were identified by Hezbollah.
At this stage, there is no change in the guidelines, but the IDF is raising its alert level.
