
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed today (Thursday) the continued fighting against the terrorist organization Hezbollah.
""We continue to strike Hezbollah with force, precision and determination," Netanyahu wrote. "In Beirut, we eliminated Ali Youssef Harshi, the personal secretary of Hezbollah Secretary General Naim Qassem and one of the people closest to him.
""At the same time, last night the IDF attacked a series of terrorist infrastructures in southern Lebanon: crossings that were used to transfer thousands of weapons, rockets and launchers, as well as Hezbollah weapons depots, launchers and headquarters. Our message is clear: whoever acts against Israeli citizens will be harmed. We will continue to strike Hezbollah wherever necessary, until we restore full security to the residents of the north.".
According to a statement from the IDF spokesman, Division 162 forces are continuing targeted ground operations to expand the security area in southern Lebanon.
As part of the operation, forces from the 401st Brigade Combat Team located a shaft leading to an underground infrastructure from which a terrorist emerged who was eliminated in hand-to-hand combat. The forces raided the shaft and located a cache of weapons including: charges, rockets, an RPG launcher, and grenades.
In another operation, they destroyed several positions belonging to the terrorist organization Hezbollah, where additional weapons were located.
The forces of the 215th Fire Brigade eliminated more than 70 terrorists, including a terrorist squad that planned to fire mortars at our forces.
In another incident, the forces identified two terrorists entering a building used by Hezbollah - and the Air Force attacked the building under the direction of the forces and eliminated the terrorists. In addition, the forces destroyed anti-tank launch sites, observation posts and Hezbollah headquarters.
At the same time, the Nahal Brigade's brigade combat team located numerous weapons and destroyed dozens of terrorist infrastructures, including anti-tank positions that were targeting the forces operating in the area.
