The hacker group 'Khandela', affiliated with Iran, published dozens of documents of former Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi this morning (Thursday).
They claim that they hacked into systems related to the former Chief of Staff and managed to collect large amounts of sensitive information - obtained as part of years of surveillance of the former Chief of Staff.
Among the leaked materials: personal documents from his home and with family members, and photos and videos of Halevi during his tenure as Chief of Staff. Some of the materials reveal visits and meetings that until now have been kept under a veil of secrecy.
According to 'Kan News', those around Halevi are still assessing the extent of the damage caused.
For example, photos were leaked from his visit to Qatar alongside former US Central Command commander Michael Korila.
In addition, a photo was published of a secret meeting with Jordanian Chief of Staff Yousef al-Huneiti, during which Halevi gave him a dagger belonging to a Jordanian soldier killed in the Six-Day War. The visit was secret and the former Chief of Staff arrived wearing a civilian suit without a uniform.
Also among the photos: flights on executive jets used for secret visits, visits to Air Force fighter squadrons, IDF greeting videos with senior army officials, and also family events.
""For years, Khandela quietly followed the system of General Herzi Halevi, the former Chief of Staff of the Zionist Army, a place no one ever imagined possible," the group claimed.
According to her, they hold more than 19,000 photos and videos of Halevi, "material that the senior generals never dreamed would see the light of day.".
The hackers added that they also have access to the records of other senior commanders. "Every conversation is being monitored, but the time to reveal the details has not yet come.".
