Was Israel surprised by the capabilities of the terrorist organization Hezbollah? At the cabinet meeting held last night (Sunday), the Northern Command commander was severely criticized.

According to a report by Moti Castel, the ministers brought up for discussion the words of Major General Rafi Milo, who said in a conversation with residents: "We were surprised by Hezbollah's capabilities. There is a gap between what we thought and what we find.".

Minister Miri Regev attacked: 'How can this be? Everyone here is speaking with different messages?''

Prime Minister Netanyahu reprimanded: 'It creates a problem that the champions speak and are interviewed, it misleads the public. We need to pay close attention to this.'.

Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir responded: "I was there today assessing the situation and commented on it.".

Research Sergeant: "As for the substance of the matter, there is no gap. We were not surprised by anything. I have no idea where he got these things from. Hezbollah is beaten and weakened. Hezbollah's performance is low in every way.".

Chief of Staff Zamir: "If we were surprised by anything, it was Hezbollah's low level of fighting, both in terms of motivation or lack of motivation, and in terms of combat capability. We discovered that the 'terrible' Radwan force is not that terrible.".

The ministers also addressed statements attributed to a senior officer who said that the goal was not to dismantle Hezbollah:

Minister Israel Katz: "We are expanding the security zone. Dismantling Hezbollah is a goal.".

Chief of Staff Zamir: "Dismantling is definitely the goal. I defined it as a super goal.".

Minister Katz: "The ultimate goal is to disarm Hezbollah by all military and political means. Of course, also beyond the Litani and we are working on that.".

The goal presented to the ministers is to oversee the demilitarization of the area up to the Litani River and ensure full freedom of action for the IDF and control of the remaining crossings.

Head of the Intelligence Directorate, Udi Binder, updated the ministers on the organization's firing capabilities: "We have updated you on everything that is there.".

The ministers noted that they are aware of Hezbollah's strengthening after the damage to its strength in the previous operation, mainly due to the agreement that allowed the Lebanese army to "deal with the strengthening," which was not actually implemented.

The ministers also commented to the Chief of Staff on his remarks at the previous meeting that the IDF is collapsing in on itself. One of the ministers commented: "What about polygraph tests? Nothing can be done. Everything comes out of here.".

Minister Orit Struck asked further in the discussion: "What are the current goals against Iran? Where are we going?""

Minister Ze'ev Elkin added: "How do we achieve the overthrow of the regime?""

IDF representatives responded: "We are currently continuing to strike and destroy their production capabilities and military industries.".

Minister Miri Regev: "In my opinion, they should be given a 'blow of darkness.' This is one of the things that can motivate the public to take to the streets.".
