United States President Donald Trump warned Iran today (Saturday) that it has only two days left to open the Strait of Hormuz or enter into negotiations, or else the gates of hell will open upon it.
In a post he published on his social network Truth Social, Trump wrote: "Remember I gave Iran ten days to make a deal or open the Strait of Hormuz? Time is running out - 48 hours left before all hell breaks loose on them. Praise God!""
The Strait of Hormuz is located between the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman, and is considered one of the busiest maritime transport routes in the world: about a fifth of the world's oil supply passes through it.
The president's demand is clear: immediate opening of the strait to free navigation or Iranian agreement to the negotiating conditions set by the White House.
Republican Senator Lindsey Graham announced that he spoke with the president today after the post he published - and tweeted on the X network: "I fully support his ultimatum to the Iranian regime to open the Strait of Hormuz and reach a peace agreement. A massive military operation awaits Iran if they make the wrong decision.".
""This regime was severely damaged in Operation Epic Fury. Their reign of terror against the region and against the world must end, and hopefully this will happen through a peace agreement.".
He added: "After speaking with President Trump this morning, I am absolutely convinced that he will use overwhelming military force against the regime if they continue to block the Strait of Hormuz and refuse a diplomatic solution that will achieve our military objectives. If it is not clear to Iran and others by now that President Trump means what he says, then I don't know when it ever will be clear. Choose wisely.".
